An Informed Integrative Acupuncture Experience

Acupuncture is an ancient healing art which has been successfully utilized for thousands of years. With an integrative approach we draw on the wisdom of the past while embracing and utilizing the science of modern day Western medicine.

Techniques That Work

About Your Doctor:

Dr. Ashley Card attended AOMA Graduate School of Integrative Medicine where she earned her Master's and Doctorate of Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine with a focus in Oncology and Autoimmune Diseases. She was particularly drawn to AOMA because of the rigor of the curriculum along with their commitment to being on the cutting edge of true integrative medicine and their constant pursuance of being the best in the educational field. Dr. Card is always excited to get to know each and every patient while helping them achieve their health goals. After herself becoming a patient of Acupuncture and experiencing its transformative effects she decided to change careers and go back to school. Dr. Card was a dance and high school English teacher in Austin, Tx for many years before finding her passion for Traditional Chinese Medicine. When she is not seeing patients Dr. Card can be found around Austin with her husband Julio and dog Coconut at various live events, on the water, or camping.

Testimonials

  • As a natural skeptic, the idea of acupuncture did not come easily to me. For days, I had a terrible headache that I couldn’t shake. I tried increasing my water, taking pain killers, more sleep, etc., but nothing worked. Dr. Card placed two needles in my hands and the pain was gone… that’s all it took. I truly couldn’t believe how quickly my headache was gone. I highly recommend Dr. Card. She has since helped me overcome anxiety and muscle pain and tension… all through the power of acupuncture. Thank you, Dr. Card!

  • After many years of going to chiropractors and not getting pain relief I decided to try acupuncture. I went to AOMA and met Ashley. She was a student at that time. Her knowledge of how to help with getting rid of pain is second to none. She is a very caring and respected doctor and I would highly recommend her.

  • I had been experiencing some extreme sciatica. I was in so much pain that I went to get a cortisone shot followed by multiple chiropractic visits. They did little to alleviate the pain. I had read that for some people acupuncture relieved their pain. Since I had never had a treatment before, I was a little skeptical. Dr. Card immediately put me at ease by explaining the process and how acupuncture worked. After a few treatments, I had the most relief I had felt in over a month. Dr. Card listened to all my questions and concerns and even offered stretches to use if I felt the sciatica pain returning. From that point on, if I even felt the indication of symptoms I would seek treatment from Dr. Card. I now rarely have returning symptoms and treatment keeps it in check.

  • There was a time where I had been told I needed neck surgery. My arms were so painful I almost gave in. I was skeptical but I needed help and I needed it immediately! It’s been five years now and I am still enjoying the benefits of her wisdom and knowledge. Thank you Dr. Card.

  • I was visiting the rheumatologist every three months sometimes begging the receptionist to try to work me in at six weeks. I was suffering from autoimmune disease pain. I was popping pills every 4 to 6 hours. Muscle relaxers, ibuprofen 800 (which messed up my stomach), and calozapam to sleep because the pressure points hurt so bad. Dr. Card’s nutritional knowledge has been very beneficial to my wellbeing. Going gluten free has significantly reduced my pain to the point that I no longer require the services of a rheumatologist or the pills he was pushing.
